Supporting a new solar power purchase agreement (PPA) business with planning, financial modelling and investment documentation (including business plan and pitch deck). Resulting in successful attraction of multi-million investment.

FEASIBILITY STUDIES FOR SOLAR EQUIPMENT COMPANY.

Working with an entrepreneurial organization to complete multiple feasibility studies, including recycling, social housing and innovative solar infrastructure projects. Successful in assisting the organization to attract $1m in funding.

BASELINE STUDY – COMMUNITY RESILIENCE FOR ALL (CR4ALL) PROJECT.

Undertaking a mixed-method baseline study exploring the prevailing situation of communities and mechanisms to increase the capacity of local Disaster Management Committees to develop and implement gender- and disability-inclusive disaster risk-reduction and climate change adaptation plans. Exploring systems to increase livelihood and employment opportunities that are climate-resilient and nutrition-sensitive, and increase access to financial services, especially for women and people with disabilities.

DEVELOPMENT OF MEAL FRAMEWORK FOR STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY RESILIENCE IN THE LOWER MEKON.

Reviewing the individual country strategies and partner interventions for strengthening community resilience (SCR) and the design of a common framework against which all of the countries can report. The SCR project brings together projects from the four countries with different interventions but similar outcomes. The assignment was conducted remotely through online country level consultations as well as workshops with representatives of the four countries.

BUSINESS PLAN FOR REGENERATIVE TIMBER PROCESSING OPERATION.

Producing a business plan and associated funding/grant applications for a new regenerative timber processing operation. Successful in securing seed funding for purchase of property and plant equipment. The organization is looking to create a new operation focused on creating zero emissions, zero waste and regenerative replanting of native forests.

MID-TERM REVIEW CLIMATE RESILIENCE FOR ALL (CR4ALL) PROJECT.

Undertaking a mid-term review of the CR4All project to establish the progress made towards the project’s indicators, as well the general adoption of the introduced technologies to adapt to climate change.
The MTR follows a mixed method approach with a survey and qualitative data gathering among beneficiaries, as well as interviews among other stakeholders, including local officials and the private sector.

SCIENTIFIC ADVISOR.

Providing scientific advisory support to Herculean Climate Solutions, assisting with the development of carbon reduction schemes. Reviewing scientific literature of greenhouse gas emissions and impacts of climate change on the environment. Providing information on the feasibility of a range of project ideas and advise on experimental design and environmental impacts.

MARINE SCIENCE SUPPORT.

Assessing the environmental impact of an innovative CO2 removal strategy. Reviewing local, national and international environmental regulations. Designing experimental procedures for lab-based studies on impact assessment. Writing white papers and literature reviews discussing the impacts of climate change and increasing atmospheric and oceanic CO2.

PROGRAMME DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT FOR ADVANCING AN INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE BLUE ECONOMY FOR ZANZIBAR.

Supporting the strengthening of Blue Economy programme design and incorporated of gender equity, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) across three thematic areas: (1) Marine Spatial Planning (MSP), (2) conservation of key marine habitats (mangroves, seagrass beds and coral reefs), and (3) advancing sustainable blue ecotourism. In support of the Ministry of Blue Economy and Fisheries, Zanzibar. Included research and development, facilitation and presenting of findings at validation workshop (Zanzibar).

REGIONAL TRANSBOUNDARY DIAGNOSTIC ANALYSIS, AND STRATEGIC ACTION PROGRAMME.

Reviewing the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) through the the ATSEA-2 programme, and subsequently, the Strategic Action Programme (SAP) for the Arafura Timor Seas marine ecosystem. Designing and delivering participatory regional multi-government processes to engage partners and stakeholders, advise technical working groups, and research and develop the technical drafts. The TDA is a comprehensive regional assessment of environmental values and threats, and the SAP sets out long-term strategic direction and priority actions to address these identified threats.
