Climate Change Adaptation And Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist Support.

USAID Indonesia’s technical assistance supports the development and implementation of environmental policies, laws, and regulations for natural resource protection and sustainable management. USAID Indonesia works with the Government of Indonesia (GoI) to assist vulnerable areas of Indonesia to become more resilient to the effects of climate change. This assignment assessed climate change vulnerability assessment (VA) processes’ effectiveness in leading to local investments in risk management and identifying key lessons learned, best practices and opportunities to inform future climate change adaptation programming for Indonesia.

Assessing The Impact Of Projects Funded By The Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) From 2012- 2014.

Working together with three key local partners to design and implement participatory evaluation methodologies to evaluate programs in four districts. Using innovative techniques to discuss outcomes for communities and collectively analyzing the results with local organizations to enable better program design that addresses community needs.

Scoping Study For A ‘whole Of School’ Approach To Gender Based Violence Prevention.

Collaborative research with a local partner following training in participatory methodologies and accompanying them with on the job capacity development in research skills including analysis, interviewing techniques, designing methodology and conducting primary and secondary data analysis. The study forms the basis of a multi-year community based approach to preventing and responding to violence against women and children at the community level.

Support To Red Cross Timor-leste Hiv/aids Program.

Assisting and advising on the ongoing implementation and the completion of Cruz Vermelha De Timor-Leste (CVTL – Red Cross Timor-Leste) HIV/AIDS Program. Contributing knowledge and capacity building assistance for project staff in key areas identified for technical assistance / capacity building, including production of guidelines, agreements and procedures for partners, strengthening and integration of HIV and AIDS interventions and development of appropriate tools for staff for effective project implementation. Providing technical support for the inaugural youth camp with over 300 participants from Red Cross International branches and all districts of Timor-Leste.

Impact Assessment For LWR Supported Coastal Resource Management Projects.

Impact assessment covered the period of 2001 – 2014 and reviewed all coastal resource management projects supported by LWR in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur implemented through this period. The assessment included a household survey and qualitative data gathering to document achievements and lessons learned in the areas of: women empowerment, enterprise development, coastal resource management, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and to a lesser extent emergency responses.

Agricultural Recovery: Typhoon Haiyan Response.

CRS was one of the first INGOs on the ground after Typhoon Haiyan hitting the Philippines on November 8, 2013. To complement and follow up humanitarian relief programs this assignment looked at the challenges and needs of the affected communities to recover and sustainably develop their livelihoods. To inform medium and long-term programs situational and market assessments were conducted in the heavily affected fisheries/aquaculture and coconut based sectors. As Team Lead the consultant integrated findings in proposals and a livelihoods development strategy.

Near Coast Habitat Mapping And Spatial Accounting.

Created and compiled spatial database from various sources and using a range of collection methods. Performed spatial accounting exercise on habitat for specific species.

Taninthayi Corridor Proposal Plan.

Preparation and provision of GIS data to facilitate program activities focusing on the designation of Taninthayi National Park, Lenya Wildlife Sanctuary, and the identification and designation of forest corridors connecting the two sites. Established a complete GIS database for Fauna and Flora International Myanmar program.

Landuse Mapping And Policy Analysis.

Conducted a series of activities for collating GIS data, mapping landuse, and holding stakeholder consultations to identify potential forest classifications in support of the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Forestry’s (MoECaF) commitment to realigning actual land uses with national landuse policies.

Ghizo Conservation Assessment And Plan, Ghizo Island.

Provided GIS/mapping support to the Solomon Islands program for the development of a GIS database. Spatially documented (using maps and tables) areas of biodiversity significance and conservation concern through analysis of existing and newly collected spatial data, satellite imagery and stakeholder involved data collection.
