Technical support provided in research areas related to monitoring the distribution, population status, behaviour and ecology of the Sabangau Forest’s flagship ape species, and supporting biodiversity and forestry research initiatives in support of the Rungan River Orangutan Conservation Programme (RROCP).
Producing a ‘Professional Development Curriculum’ to guide training for over 200 practitioners working in community engagement, promoting gender and social inclusion approaches and facilitation skills. The assignment included active field-based participatory research, staff training and the implementation of a social inclusion organizational policy, and resulted in a rise in the percentage of registered rural women farmers from 7% to 49%. This represents a significant shift in attitudes, opportunities for women and all farmers, as well advancing the potential for more equitable economic benefits in this sector.
Supporting the design, development and implementation of the 2016 Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) Regional Exchange (REX) under the CCA Technical Working Group (TWG) of the Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI), focused on the development of a ‘Center of Excellence’ in the Coral Triangle (inter-governmental meeting for: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste). Assignment under the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat.

Review tailored for the 12th Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) of the inter-governmental Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF). Largest capacity assessment conducted to date in the region to support the implementation of the CTI-CFF Regional Plan of Action (RPoA), Goal #3, ‘Marine Protected Areas established and effectively managed’.
