MONITORING AND EVALUATION MID-TERM REVIEW OF DFAT’S PHILIPPINE CIVIL MARITIME SECURITY PROGRAM.

Reviewing the framework and tools of this civil maritime program with a focus on the relevance and accomplishments to date of the implementing partners under the PCMSP. Supporting data collection and coordinating the field visits to partners with coral rehabilitation projects.

MID-TERM REVIEW CLIMATE RESILIENCE FOR ALL (CR4ALL) PROJECT.

Undertaking a mid-term review of the CR4All project to establish the progress made towards the project’s indicators, as well the general adoption of the introduced technologies to adapt to climate change.
The MTR follows a mixed method approach with a survey and qualitative data gathering among beneficiaries, as well as interviews among other stakeholders, including local officials and the private sector.

MARKET ASSESSMENT WITH NUTRITIONAL ANALYSIS USING THE COST OF THE DIET METHOD.

Assessing market prices of food products, as well as nutritional habits of the local population through the adoption of the Cost of the Diet methodology. Providing advice the Ministry of Education on the cost of nutritious meals for their School Feeding Program.

DEVELOPMENT OF EVIDENCE-BASED SOCIAL AND BEHAVIORAL CHANGE MATERIALS.

Developing a broad range of materials to support nutrition, hygiene and health related behaviors based on previously conducted research by Sustainable Solutions Timor-Leste. The materials include growth charts for children as a participatory education and awareness tool to prevent stunting, flipbooks for community and parent sessions and a range of facilitation guides and training packages.

SUSTAINABLE AQUACULTURE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST/TEAM LEAD SUPPORT.

Supporting the work on a loan and Global Environment Facility (GEF) grant to support the improvement of supply of feeds into the feed shrimp mills, in partnership with the Indonesian Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries and the National Development Planning Agency.

GRANT CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT CONSULTING SERVICES.

Advising on strategy, focal areas, and partners in the development of board grants for the Philippines and Indonesia, and providing feedback on concepts related to small-scale fisheries management, MPAs, OECM, and sub-national policy opportunities.

MID-TERM EVALUATION OF THE WWF CORAL TRIANGLE PROGRAMME.

Undertaking a mid-term evaluation of the World Wildlife Fund Coral Triangle Programme (WWF-CTP), as it reaches the mid-point of its strategic plan (2021-2025). Involved undertaking quantitative and qualitative surveys, semi-structured individual interviews and virtual focus group discussions with a wide range of WWF network national and programmatic offices, as CTP partner organizations.

REGIONAL WORKSHOP FACILITATION FOR CAPACITY BUILDING AROUND GREEN LIST CRITERIA.

Designing, developing, implementing and facilitating a regional workshop for the development of a Marine Conservation and Protected Areas (MCPA) capacity development programme for the Coral Triangle region, Asia Pacific, based on the IUCN Green List Framework. Included introducing the IUCN Green List to Asia Pacific, and unpacking the criteria to identify competency needs for strengthening across the region.

SCIENTIFIC ADVISOR.

Providing scientific advisory support to Herculean Climate Solutions, assisting with the development of carbon reduction schemes. Reviewing scientific literature of greenhouse gas emissions and impacts of climate change on the environment. Providing information on the feasibility of a range of project ideas and advise on experimental design and environmental impacts.

MARINE SCIENCE SUPPORT.

Assessing the environmental impact of an innovative CO2 removal strategy. Reviewing local, national and international environmental regulations. Designing experimental procedures for lab-based studies on impact assessment. Writing white papers and literature reviews discussing the impacts of climate change and increasing atmospheric and oceanic CO2.
